Meet Molly

My name is Alexa Young

My name is Molly and I'm an Occupational Therapist and Certified Lactation Counselor with a deep passion for supporting infants and parents. My experience in the NICU and community revealed a significant challenge: the lack of resources for families navigating the complexities of infant feeding and development at home.

I believe that feeding is a profoundly individual journey for every parent, with no one-size-fits-all approach. My work with preemies in the NICU has honed my ability to problem-solve, think innovativley, and apply evidence-based research to help parents achieve their evolving feeding goals.

I am committed to the belief that feeding is intricately connected to the baby's relationship with their parent, their environment, and their internal well-being. It's essential not only to observe feeding but also to consider the holistic development and movement of the baby

With my extensive experience, I am well-equipped to support you and your baby through their feeding and developmental journey. I earned my Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from the University of Toledo and have dedicated my career to specializing in infant care, parent bonding, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Over seven years at Nationwide Children’s Hospital NICU, I have worked with some of the most complex feeding and developmental cases nationwide, providing assessments, interventions, and family centered care.

My expertise includes extensive training in the Synactive Theory of Preterm Infant Development and certifications in the General Movement Assessment, Early Feeding Skills Assessment, and Neonatal Neurobehavioral Scale. I can't wait to work with you and your baby!
